Cycling to ses Illetes along the old salt route

Green route 1 sets off from the port of La Savina and follows the island's salt-making past (the salt pans, the sa Sequi channel, the Molí de Sal) between sabina trees and dunes, to Cavall d'en Borràs and ses Illetes: 3.3 km, a quarter of an hour by bike. The whole route lies within the Parc Natural de ses Salines, where pedestrians and bicycles enter free; cars and motorbikes pay in season (in 2026, from 10 May to 15 October, €5 to €7 per car depending on the fortnight) and are subject to a capacity limit. It's the way to reach the island's best-known beach without hunting for parking. Formentera has 32 signposted green routes, covering more than 100 km, many suitable for cycling.

Getting there

From Ibiza Airport to the port of Eivissa (about 8 km: about 15 min by taxi or the AERO2 bus, 30-35 min) and boat to La Savina (about 30 min). The route starts at the same port, where there are vehicle-hire businesses of every kind along the promenade.
