Sóller

The valley of orange groves, closed in by mountains and opened to the sea by its port. Sóller has a café-lined square, the Modernisme of the emigrants who came back from France, and a wooden train that arrives from Palma through thirteen tunnels.

Practical information

Access
By train from Palma: 27.3 kilometres running since 1912, with thirteen tunnels, one of them almost three kilometres long. By car, through the Sóller tunnel or over the old Coll road.
Services
The tram to the port leaves from the square, barely five kilometres, running since 1913. It is real public transport, not an attraction.
Best time
All year. In winter the valley is quiet and the orange trees are heavy with fruit.
