Sant Antoni · Menorca's National Day

Menorca's great winter celebration. On 17 January the island marks the Catalan-Aragonese conquest by Alfonso III in 1287, the end of more than three centuries of Andalusi rule. The centrepiece is the 'processó dels Tres Tocs' in Ciutadella's cathedral, when the banner strikes a flagstone three times over a cross of Sant Antoni. Pure identity, far from the summer crowds.
