Cove · North (Ciutadella)
Cala Algaiarens
Two sister beaches (es Bot and es Tancats) of golden-red sand within an unspoilt protected area framed by pine wood and dunes, free of buildings. One of the few wild beaches in the north reachable by car, which makes it much sought after.
What to see and do
- bathing at two wild sister beaches (es Bot and es Tancats)
- walking the pine wood and dunes of an undeveloped protected area (ANEI)
- arriving early in summer: access and parking are regulated
Practical information
- Access
- Drive-up by car · seasonal bus service
- Parking
- Capacity-controlled (2026 season): access to La Vall closes once the car park is full, and there are marshals on the approach road. In July and August it is worth arriving in the morning. There is no point looking for a spot nearby: the lanes are narrow and parking on them is not allowed. The seasonal bus from Ciutadella also comes here.
- Best time
- June and September, without hesitation. In high season, before 9am. Access control runs from 8am to 9pm and stays in place until 15 October.
- Effort
- Moderate: a short walk or steps
- Suggested time
- ~3 h
