One of the world's most influential art galleries chose an islet in Maó harbour for its first Mediterranean home: part of the old naval hospital on Illa del Rei, restored by architect Luis Laplace, with eight galleries, an open-air sculpture trail and a garden by landscape designer Piet Oudolf (of New York's High Line). You arrive by boat from the harbour. The most exclusive art outing in the Balearics, and it's open to everyone.
