Cala Tortuga

A virgin beach of golden sand beneath the lunar black-slate landscape of Favàritx, within the natural park. Restricted vehicle access and the walk in keep it serene: pure nature, with not a beach bar in sight.

  • in summer reached by seasonal bus from Maó

Practical information

Access
Summer shuttle bus only · seasonal bus service
Parking
In season (in 2026, from 15 May) the final stretch of the Favàritx road is closed to private traffic, as for Presili: you leave the car in the car park at the entrance and continue on foot or by bus. The L43 bus runs from Maó until 30 September, with six departures a day in high summer. From Favàritx it is about a 35-minute walk along the Camí de Cavalls.
Best time
Outside the restricted season you can drive up to the designated car park, about 2 km from the lighthouse (parking on the esplanade is fined), and it is usually empty. In summer, take the first bus: the walk from the stop does the rest of the filtering.
Effort
Demanding: a 15-40 min trail
Suggested time
~3 h

In season (in 2026, from 15 May) cars go no further than the car park at the entrance to the Favàritx road: from there, on foot or on the L43 bus, which runs from Maó until 30 September. In October there is no bus; if the restriction continues (in 2024 and 2025 it lasted until 31 October), walk from that car park.
