Playa de Binimel·là

A broad beach of reddish sand with an islet and red clay cliffs, to be admired and left untouched: scraping off the mud erodes the coast. The classic starting point for the walk to Cala Pregonda; reachable by car, which makes it an easy way into the wild north.

What to see and do

  • the reddish sand and the red clays of the north
  • the classic starting point for the walk to Cala Pregonda
  • easy access by car; a 10-minute walk from the car park to the sand

Practical information

Access
Drive-up by car
Parking
Capacity-controlled (2026 season): the gravel car park closes when full. It is the gateway to the island's red north, so in August it fills during the morning. There is no point looking for a spot nearby: the lanes are narrow and parking on them is not allowed.
Best time
May, June and September. Bear in mind that the walk to Pregonda also starts here, so the car park absorbs two beaches at once. In season, the Consell controls the car park; the service contract runs until 15 October.
Effort
Moderate: a short walk or steps
Suggested time
~3 h
