Cove · South (Ferreries)
Cala Mitjana
A wide cove of pale sand and clear water, framed by cliffs that some use to leap into the sea. Near Cala Galdana, it pairs beauty with reasonable access.
What to see and do
- walk the 1.2 km path from the car park down to the pale-sand cove
- watch some leap into the water from the cliffs (with care)
- arrive before 10 am in summer: the car park fills up early
Practical information
- Access
- Easy walk (~15 min) from the car park through holm oak woods
- Parking
- A large free gravel car park at the entrance to Cala Galdana, capacity-controlled since 2025 (2026 season): a barrier closes it once full. In July and August it is best to be there before 10am. From the car park there is a signposted path of just over a kilometre, downhill. There is no point looking for a spot nearby: the lanes are narrow and parking on them is not allowed.

- Almost no facilities: a picnic area, and a lifeguard from 1 June to 15 September (itinerant from Cala Galdana the rest of the season). Bring everything else you need
- Best time
- June and September. In August, early: in july and august, arrive between 7am and 7.30am. may, june and september give you far more room: in may the car parks do not fill up until 10 or 10.30am. Access control runs from 8am to 9pm and stays in place until 15 October.

- 1.2 km downhill path, mostly easy and family-friendly; not for wheelchairs.
