Descend into the Lithica quarries

Abandoned sandstone quarries turned into a cultural space like no other: stone labyrinths, gardens carved into the rock, an amphitheatre and hand-cut walls rising several storeys. You go down slowly, and almost always alone. Open 9.30am to 2.30pm, plus afternoons in high season; being entirely outdoors, it is a better plan for heat than for rain.
