Diumenge de l'Àngel: the village festival at Bellver Castle

On the first Sunday after Easter, Palma climbs up to Bellver Castle to celebrate the Àngel Custodi, the city's former patron. It is a tradition more than 600 years old, revived in 1981 and organised today by the Federació d'Associacions de Veïns with support from the Ajuntament: activities for all ages, music and traditional dancing, and panades and robiols on the esplanade. In 2027 it falls on 4 April: a way to get to know the castle and its pine wood alongside the people of Palma.

Getting there

The castle is about 14 km from the airport (about 20-25 minutes by car) and has parking next to the visitor centre; on the day of the festival it's worth checking the access routes announced by the Ajuntament.
