Watching Menorca's Starlight sky through a telescope
Menorca has been a Starlight Reserve and Tourist Destination since January 2019, when the Fundación Starlight presented the Consell Insular with both certifications at FITUR, the result of years spent reducing light pollution. Polaris Menorca, with Starlight guides, runs telescope observations — private sessions too — at La Vall, a protected area in the north-west. For something simpler, the Ajuntament de Ciutadella and the Secció Astronòmica del Cercle Artístic open the Observatori Astronòmic de Menorca for viewings of the Moon and other bodies: Saturday 17 October (20:00 and 21:00), Monday 16 November and Wednesday 16 December (18:30 and 19:30), with tickets through Ticket Ib; part of the session is outdoors, so it's worth bringing something warm.

Getting there
La Vall is about 50 km from the airport (about 55 minutes by car); there's no direct bus, and La Vall's free car park can fill up on public holidays. The Ciutadella observatory is reached from the car park at the Canal Salat health centre, or on foot from the Moix Negre cinema.
