Cala en Turqueta
Almost unreal turquoise water and fine sand sheltered by pines. More tucked-away and family-friendly, it's one of the best-loved coves in the south-west. The name says it all.

Practical information
- Access
- Short walk (~10-15 min) from the car park along a path through a holm-oak wood
- Parking
- Capacity-controlled (2026 season): a barrier closes the car park as soon as it fills, and Turqueta is the first of the southern Ciutadella coves to close. In July and August it is usually full by 8am; in May, around 10am. There is no point looking for a spot nearby: the lanes are narrow and parking on them is not allowed. Without a car: the bus from Ciutadella leaves at 10.15am, 12.15pm, 4.15pm and 7.15pm, returning half an hour later.

- No beach bar: bring water, food and shade
- Best time
- If you are driving, start genuinely early: this is the first one to hang up the sign. In July and August, arrive between 7am and 7.30am. May, June and September give you far more room: in May the car parks do not fill up until 10 or 10.30am. Access control runs from 8am to 9pm and stays in place until 15 October.
