Crossing to Illa del Rei: a naval hospital, a gallery and a garden in the middle of the harbour
An islet in the middle of Maó's harbour with a sixth-century paleo-Christian basilica and the eighteenth-century English naval hospital, which a foundation of volunteers is restoring and opening as a museum. On the same islet, Hauser & Wirth has its art centre, always free to enter, and a canteen beneath the olive trees. It's reached by a shuttle boat of about 15 minutes from the Moll de Llevant. 2026 season: 25 Apr to 7 Jun and 9 Sep to 25 Oct, Wednesday to Sunday from 10:00 to 16:00; 21 Jun to 6 Sep, daily from 11:00 to 22:00.

Getting there
The boat leaves from Moll de Llevant, 61, in the port of Maó, about 8 km from the airport (a quarter of an hour by car). By bus, line 10 to Maó station and then on foot down to the port. Boat tickets by reservation on the Hauser & Wirth Menorca website.
