La Beata de Valldemossa: the triumphal float of 28 July

Every 28 July, the feast day of Santa Catalina Tomàs, born in Valldemossa in 1531, the village celebrates its biggest day with the procession of the relic and the parade of the Carro Triomfal. The “Beateta”, a girl chosen by the village, presides over the float, accompanied by colles de pagesos and xeremiers. The parade began in the nineteenth century at the sa Coma estate, and the Ajuntament has organised it since 1978. The Consell de Mallorca declared it part of the island's intangible cultural heritage in 2025.
